CREFTDA believes SHG (Self Help Groups) approach is the key element of social mobilization being self-supporting, self-governing organization they are devoid of bureaucratization and politicalization. And it is also proved that SHG movement is an effective intervention strategy for poverty alleviation. Accordingly we have formed 46 SHGs with 561 members. There were some SHGs which were defunct and we have revived these groups. In these groups there are both male and female groups. 32 groups have received matching grants and 20 groups have linked with Banks and these groups have been carrying out some income generating activities. SHGs are the social change agents and accordingly in the process they are also involved in solving different social issues like anti-liquor campaign, anti dowry, women abuse and in different health issues of mother and children.
